Please take the time to read the terms and conditions relating to use of the PCDDB and its website. Use of the website will be taken as a sign of acceptance of these terms and conditions.

(1) The Protein Circular Dichroism Data Bank (PCDDB) is intended to function as a repository and searchable archive for, but not limited to, Circular Dichroism spectra from proteins.

(2) The PCDDB, its concept, design, implementation and web interface are provided as a service to the global scientific community on an 'as-is' basis. All possible care and attention will be taken to ensure the correctness and accuracy of the data held within it, but this is not a guarantee. No liability will be accepted by the developers for any use or mis-use of data which has been accessed from this data bank.

(3) The PCDDB is a collaborative venture between Birkbeck College and Queen Mary; both institutions are affiliated to the University of London. The developers reserve the right to add, remove, alter or make any other modification to the content of the Data Bank at any time and without notice.

(4) It is intended that retreival of information from the PCDDB will be freely accessible to all, without subscription. Access will be provided through a World Wide Web interface and possibly other methods. The availability and access methods are subject to change without notice.

(5) Users accessing the data bank via the internet and world wide web are responsible for ensuring that they have appropriate browsing software. The developers will endeavour to make the web site readable by common web browsing programs, but accept no liability for any problems arising from the use of any browser, client or third party software in relation to the PCDDB.

Cookie policy

The PCDDB uses two kinds of cookies, detailed in the following table. The first kind is a session identifying cookie and is required for the operation of users accounts and logging in and out. The second type is for analysing the usage of the website and is provided by a company called google & Hotjar. The PCDDB will operate correctly when searching and data retrieval without cookies but cookie functions must be enabled for any activity involving logging in or being logged in to a user account.

Cookies are small text files that websites request your web browser to create on the computer or device that is visiting them. Cookies are frequently used to allow websites to function or better function and are also regularly used to give feedback to the website owners or third parties about the usage of the website.

The PCDDB is a development of the Department of Biological Sciences, Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology, Birkbeck College, University of London and the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, Queen Mary University of London, UK.
